If Marc Jacobs' penchant for all things shiny and clear for Fall 2013 are indication, the elaborate tricks on our tips will be going by the wayside. When we were backstage at some of the biggest shows this season, including Theysken's Theory, Rag & Bone, The Row, and more, we noticed many of the designers opted for neutral and nude tones for the models to sport on the runway. It's a look that celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi has dubbed the mannequin nail. "The nude nail makes the hands look longer and more sophisticated," she noted.
Other manicurists mentioned that most designers didn't want nail art drawing attention away from the clothes as many played with more luxurious textures and bolder patterns this season. We'll take it as an indicator to go big or go home for the spring!
