On Shelves Soon: Von Follies Lingerie By Dita Von Teese
We've long loved Dita Von Teese and her retro style, old-world aesthetic, and overtly feminine sensibility. And we aren't the only ones, as the risqué burlesque beauty is set to launch a set of sexy 1950's-inspired skivvies that you'll certainly be dying to add to your collection of intimates. Introducing Von Follies by Dita Von Teese, the curvy pinup's latest sophisticated yet sensual lingerie collection that will feature a wide range of nostalgically-designed undergarments, including bustiers, longline corsets, balcony bralettes, garter suspender belts, and high-waist briefs alluringly adorned with lace, mesh, grosgrain, and velvet.
On why she decided to design another lingerie collection:
“I've had a longtime fascination with the 1950’s era overwire bras; there are so many vintage lingerie pieces I love that I haven’t been able to find in all my years of collecting,” says Von Teese. “I wanted to design pieces that are tributes to my vintage obsessions, to make them beautiful and functional, while modernising them for everyday wear.”
On the arduous design process:
“It's something that has been quite a task to create, but the end result is so chic, and so unique, admits Von Teese. “I'm very proud of it. It's a statement piece meant to be seen. I am also very happy with the beautiful panties we've made and can't wait to have them in my lingerie drawer! They are so comfortable and sexy, and flattering on any shape.”
On sizing of the Von Follies collection:
“Size range was one of the first things I asked when I was approached to create this collection,” adds Von Teese. “It was important to me to accomplish the task of making these beautiful things in sizes that can make any woman feel sexy and glamorous, and I’m very proud that we have been able to do that, while keeping prices affordable.”
The racy Von Follies racy underpinnings will retail exclusively at Target Australia starting in February 2012, but will be released globally during the latter half of the year.
