Victoria’s Secret is shifting in a new direction for their highly anticipated fashion show.
One Direction is the first musical group chosen for this year's runway extravaganza, according to The Sun. The news comes on the heels of a major win for the group, who snapped up a Moonman at last night’s Video Music Awards for “Best Song of the Summer” as well as the release of their upcoming movie, This Is Us.
It smells like tween spirit, as the boys would join idols like Justin Bieber and Katy Perry who previously took to the glittering silver runway (and who also share their penchant for fruity fragrances, we might add). Bieber’s performance as well as Rihanna and Bruno Mars rubbed elbows with the Angels and brought in 9 million viewers to last year’s spectacular, spurring many young girls to start snapping up the brand’s PINK line along the way.
With the younger generation taken care of, we're curious to see who else will fill out the performance roster on Victoria’s Secret’s big night!
Update: Looks like the boyband's party is over before it even started as Victoria's Secret has denied the roster rumor. “The recent reports regarding One Direction appearing in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show are untrue. The band is not performing in this year’s show. We will announce our artists in early October," a statement from the brand was released to Fashionista Tuesday morning. We'll just have to wait to see who makes the final cut.
