Oscar de la Renta’ s Spring 2013 Bridal Collection offered glamorous gowns fit for a garden wedding. Drawing on the influences from his Spring 2012 ready to wear collection, florals prevailed in appliqués, guipures, and headpieces. Amongst to the ivory silk, chiffon, lace, and beads, customary silhouettes were spiced up with pops of feathers, fur, and an ice blue hue. There were fun alternatives for non-traditional brides, including a bustier and palazzo pant ensemble and a pearl embroidered skirt suit amongst the shorter dresses. The real showstopper was the scarlet ball gown that was paired with a Spanish comb and a black Chantilly lace mantilla that closed the show. Any bride who chooses one of Oscar’s fanciful confections is in for a real treat.
