Oscars 2014: Gravity Flies High, 12 Years a Slave Earns Top Prize

The Golden Globes. The SAGs. The Independent Spirit Awards. They all led up to the most-heralded ceremony of awards season, The Academy Awards. Matthew McConaughey, Cate Blanchett, Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong’o, and Alfonso Cuarón all ascended the Dolby Theatre stage to accept their respective, gold-plated Oscars statuettes. Of all the victors, it was Gravity, which reigned with seven awards; and Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Steve McQueen, and Anthony Katagas who celebrated the utmost acclaim for producing Best Picture, 12 Years A Slave.
