THE PARTY: Shark Attack Sounds
THE PLACE: Montauk Yacht Club
THE DEETS: Though fireworks were the main attraction on the 4th of July in Montauk, all attention was directed towards a music festival of sorts on the 5th, for Ben Watts' 11th Annual Shark Attack Sounds party. In years past, the fashion photographer threw his regular bash in various venues around the fishing village turned summer must-visit destination, but this year, he brought the fashion and music crowd to the Eastern End of Montauk. Among hundreds of little (red, white, and blue) blow up sharks, revelers took over the 32 waterside acres, ready to dance the night away. DJs including Zen Freedman, Carl Kennedy, and Chelsea Leyland kept james like Icona Pop's "I Love It" and Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" blaring throughout the grassy escape all night long. For those who needed a break from the dancing, there was a Milk Studios fashioned photo-booth station appropriately decorated with a neon American flag, teepees for Instagram moments, endless beverages for consumption, and shopping opportunities. As the sun set and guests moved from the blow up seats and hay barrels that were fashioned for table service back to the dance floor, massive blow up balls deployed onto the dance floor, as well as a flying Go-Pro taking photos from above. To top it all off, Theophilus London made a surprise performance on the stage, truly turning this experience into a Coachella moment in the Hamptons.
