Patrick Dempsey is transforming from dreamy to all-out gritty in his new role in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which hits theaters this Friday. The Grey’s Anatomy star is excited about surprising audiences. He had a blast on set living on the rush of the fast-paced production schedule. Here’s what he had to say about his experience at a recent press junket.
What was the most exciting and the most memorable moment of the “Transformers” shoot?
"That’s the most fun I’ve ever had on a movie. Really, it was so much fun. And - no, seriously, I did. I had a great time. We laughed a lot. And you know, we worked hard. Michael works very quickly, which is exciting, so the days go by very fast. And it was fun to play a character that is unexpected, you know. And I was really very happy to have that opportunity, and very lucky to be a part of this movie and to be with this group. And as an actor, you just want to constantly keep surprising people. And I think that answers the first question. You want to ask yourself, 'what are we doing to surprise the audience?' And I think for me, to have this opportunity to show a different side of myself is what an actor really wants to do. And it’s a great cast - that’s very inspiring. Michael Bay is a wonderful director. And I truly fell in love with cinema again, doing this movie."
