Personal Style 101: Girl’s Night Attire

Back in college, a girl’s night ensemble usually consisted of a skimpy top and a pair of tight black pants. Early twenties meant a wear it once and toss it little jersey dress from Forever 21. Now that you’ve gotten a little older, a little wiser, and have a few more dollars in your pocket – it’s time to step up the girl’s night out attire and I’m going to show you how.

Keep your motives in order

I’m about to get real, so get ready … before getting dressed you need to map out your motives. Are you single and looking for free drinks or are you taken and looking for a fun night of dancing with the girls (without a side of harassment from the opposite sex). This will dictate amount of sexy you put in your ensemble.

Stay classy

As sophisticated young lady, keeping it classy should be a priority. This means natural fabrications, manicured nails, and a little something to drape over your shoulders.

Keep it comfortable

Okay not too comfortable – no pajamas, please. But teetering around in too-tall shoes or constantly pulling down on a micro mini reeks of amateur hour. Wear something eye-catching that you can actually function in.

Glitz it up

It’s not everyday that you get to hit a trendy restaurant, pay a visit to the hippest bar on the block, or stay out way past your bedtime. Enjoy this night and wear the clothing you’d never think of wearing during the week. This means sequins, leather, metallic, and the like.
