Philosophy Has Hope & Grace for the Future of Mental Health

Philosophy is putting its principles to action with a new charity.

The beauty brand will reveal its Hope & Grace Initiative that takes its names from it top two best selling products, Hope in a Jar and Amazing Grace fragrance. Starting in January, Philosophy will donate 1 percent of all sales to benefit community-based organization that empower women through the awareness and treatment of mental health. The brand will annually give multiple grants of $25,000 to support these non-profits throughout the world, starting with Bring Change 2 Mind, a national anti-stigma organization founded by Glenn Close.

“More than any other issue, mental well-being is directly connected to the spirit of the Philosophy brand,” Jill Scalamandre, chief marketing officer of the skin-care division of Coty Inc. told Women’s Wear Daily. “In addition, Philosophy becomes the first global skin-care and fragrance brand to make a brand-wide commitment to dedicate at least 1 percent of all sales toward philanthropic efforts — with no product restrictions.”
