Phoebe Philo and Natalie Massenet Named Among Time’s Most Influential
Two of fashion’s boldest names have landed on Time magazine’s annual list of 100 most influential people in the world: Celine’s powerhouse designer Phoebe Philo and Net-A-Porter’s founder and executive chairman Natalie Massenet.
Philo's friend Stella McCartneywrote: “One of the few female designers, she [Philo] celebrates the simple and champions the quality and reality of a woman’s wardrobe. When people invest in her work, they have it for life. One of the things we share is the reality that the clothes we design are actually worn.”
While Philo was included on the icons list, Massenet was introduced to the pioneers list by J.Crew’s president and creative directorJenna Lyons. “She saw a world where people would pay $2,000 for a pair of jeans, a world where you can buy what you covet, where the magazine pages meet the FedEx man,” Lyons wrote. “You want it? You can have it. Click here.”
