Rachel Bilson Named Her Baby After Sleeping Beauty

Congrats are in order for The O.C. alum Rachel Bilson and her long-time beau Hayden Christensen. Not only did Bilson give birth to a bustling baby girl, the couple have christened her with one of the catchiest cele-baby names of the year: Briar Rose.

That’s right: Bilson and Christensen settled on the Sleeping Beauty pseudonym, as first written by the Brothers Grimm in 1812, and later popularized by Walt Disney in 1959.

“Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson welcome their daughter Briar Rose Christensen born on October 29, 2014,” the couple said in a statement. “Both mother and baby are healthy and doing well. They are asking for privacy and subscribe to the No Kids Policy.”

This is the first child for Bilson, 33, a moment she told Health magazine she had been looking forward to for a while.

“I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I have always wanted kids. I can just see this little toddler waddling around the house.” she told Health.

She’s gotten her wish… with a little princess in tow.
