Ralph Lauren is once again bringing his all-American aesthetic to the Olympics. Today the designer unveiled Team USA’s official opening and closing ceremony uniforms that the athletes will wear when they head to London as well as a collection of village wear apparel and accessories that embody the spirit of U.S. sportsmanship. Lauren drew inspiration for the extensive history and indomitable spirit of the Olympic games, featuring classic silhouettes in patriotic colors with the U.S. Olympic Team patch as well as his signature big pony logo emblazoned on the pieces. To top off their looks, the sophisticated athletic set will don a navy beret with red and white stripes that also feature both logos. The brand was honored to make a contribution to such a historic event.
“It’s a privilege to play a part in the London Games and to celebrate the achievements of these premier athletes as they represent our nation on the world’s biggest stage,” said David Lauren, Ralph Lauren’s Executive Vice President of Advertising, Marketing and Corporate Communications.
Keep an eye out for the designs as the athletes walk with the other participating countries in the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony on July 27th.
