Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2015
Inspiration: “The ultimate luxury in life is to be young, beautiful, free and to have found love.” -Rebecca Minkoff
Minkoff's fall collection looks to Patti Smith and her evocative memoir Just Kids, which paints a vivid portrait of New York in the late 1960s and early 70s as she and Robert Mapplethorpe forged their artistic identities. The collection draws from Smith's own androgynous, rock-inspired style while also referencing her brush with icons such as Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, and Jimi Hendrix during her tenancy at the Chelsea Hotel.
Trends: guitar strap-inspired embroideries, shearling, floral prints, textured knits, chiffon maxis, fringe, 70s suede styles, wide brimmed hats
Palette: earthy tones like burgundy, camel, cream, mossy green, with black and white as the anchors
