Since Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week made its move to Lincoln Center last season, the Empire Hotel has become the go-to spot for cocktails, relaxation, and swag suites. This season Rebecca Taylor is upping the hotel's style ante. The designer, who is known for her flattering feminine aesthetic, has created a custom special occasion signature dress that will be worn by the hotel's Fashion Week ambassadors.
Inspired by the hotel's chic interior, which is dominated by smokey black and gold, the ‘Empire Femme Fatale' dress features a luxurious nude silk with jet black lace overlay. The back is aembellished with a cross grain rhinestone detail and exposed zipper detail.
And once the ambassadors have made it through fashion week dishing out info to anyone who stops by, T=the dresses along with an autographed sketch will be auctioned off to benefit New York Foundling on chartiybuzz.com.
And to honor the designer, the hotel's mixologists have stirred up a chic new cocktail named after her. "Rebecca's Royal Empire" is a twist on a classic Kir Royal with a mix of St. Germain & Raspberry Massenier, garnished with a sugared raspberry. Stop by for a toast and to check out the ambassador's ensembles.
