According to the Associated Press, the couple wed in a small chapel in a private, nondenominational civil ceremony at Provence’s Chateau Miraval. The couple obtained a marriage license from a local California judge who conducted the ceremony. The couple made it a family affair as Jolie walked down the aisle with her eldest sons, Maddox and Pax while Zahara and Vivienne were flower girls and Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers.
Though details about the wedding dress have yet to be released, it was said that the late L’Wren Scott was working with Jolie on the bridal confection. “[Angelina and L'Wren have had] several meetings. Angelina wanted someone who is not so obvious for designing wedding gowns,” Grazia reported in 2012. “She’s been courted by some of the hottest designers on the planet, but having a big name isn’t important to her, she wanted someone she could trust – and she most definitely trusts L’Wren. Of all the people she’s met with, Angelina feels L’Wren is the one who understands her body the most.”
There have been rumors for years as to when Brangelina would make it official, as Pitt said they didn’t want to get married until gay marriage was legal. But it looks like his children’s wishes were finally heard. “We’d actually like to,” he told The Hollywood Reporter, “and it seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren’t going to do it till everyone can. But I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment.”
Congrats to the happy family!
