Kate Middleton's wedding gown is already one of the most talked about bridal confections of the century and she hasn't even walked down the aisle yet. Speculation has been mounting on who will have the honor of designing her dress and with the wedding just a month away, the smart money's on Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton. Though Burton has vehemently denied it in the press, we're guessing she's just honoring Buckingham Palace's privacy protocol. Rumor has it, Middleton was directed to the label by British Vogue'sAlexandra Shulman and it's a fitting choice for a princess with her own sense of style. We assumed she would go with an English designer, but are quite pleased with her fashion forward choice. McQueen was one of England's greatest creative forces and the late designer would have been thrilled with the honor. In recent seasons Burton has carried on his aesthetic with her own inspired flair.
Perhaps Middleton looked towards these designs from the Alexander McQueen Spring and Fall 2011 collections for guidance. Whether she goes with traditional lace, tiered chiffon, or a feathered frock, Prince William's bride is sure to stun. Here's to hoping the future queen does indeed wear McQueen!
