I love an adventure as much as the next girl, and 2014 seems to be the year I pick up a case of wanderlust thanks to Secret. To celebrate its new Secret Destinations collection, which included new scents like Paris Romantic Rose, Brazil Rainforest Mist, and Hawaii Citrus Breeze, the brand crafted a choose-your-own adventure inspired by the scents to immerse beauty editors (and a friend of our choosing) in that particular culture. Keeping up with the tropical theme I’ve enjoyed all month, I chose Brazil.

We kicked off the epic evening by heading to a samba class over at the Chelsea Studio. Our instructor Danielle Lima walked us through each of the fast paced steps so we could shake it just as well as any of the Brazilian babes in bikinis at Carnival. She even broke out the boas as we caught up to her fast footwork, and easily worked up a sweat and a barrel of laughs along the way.

After a quick break to primp, my bestie and I headed to Berimbau in the West Village to dine on Brazilian fare. We easily filled up on the Pao de Queilo and Calabresa, making it hard to finish our Strogonoff and Picadinho Carioca between a slew of swapped stories as we caught up.

Our last stop of the evening took us into to the eastside for a quick nightcap. We ordered the country’s classic cocktail, the Caipirinha, a glass of sangria, and two servings of passion fruit sorbet at Esperanto. But with all the hustle and bustle, we were tired by 10:30. It was one drink before we called it a night we wouldn’t forget any time soon!
