On the cover of the July issue ofElle magazine, Colombian singer Shakira wears velvet shorts with a lace applique at the hem. It’s this sort of juxtaposition that viewers of NBC’s hit show, The Voice, have come to expect from the petite singer. Inside that tiny body is a big voice, which coincidently, she isn’t afraid to use on the show, or in her personal life. “I think I treat the boys with mercy,” the Elle cover girl said of her male co-judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Usher.
She shuttles back and forth from Los Angeles where she shoots the show and Barcelona, Spain where she lives with her son, Milan and her champion soccer player beau, Gerard Piquè. The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer is still trying to get a handle on motherhood. “I’m still trying to figure it out,” Shakira said. “I have a feeling I will try to do the same for the rest of my life. Some people put it like it’s very idyllic, some people put it like it’s a torturing experience, but it’s not quite one thing or the other. It’s like life—it comes with everything.”
She certainly makes it look easy though.
