We love it when a new establishment harkens back to a bygone era. Tomorrow evening a major dose of Old Hollywood glamour will return to NYC with the opening of the Paramount Bar. The iconic Paramount Hotel's newest establishment once served as a stomping grounds for screen sirens and some of New York nightlife's most influential players. And based on the alluring look and feel, we're expecting the Paramount Bar to become quite a stunning scene.
The space, which features a grand mirror-paneled bar and Murano glass fixtures, is adorned with ornate crystal chandeliers, plush red velvet banquettes, and dramatic vintage black-and-white photographs. It was designed by Susan Jacques to evoke a sexy piece of Gotham's past. “I wanted to create a destination that captures the glamour of the greats who have graced the property throughout its history,” said Jaques. “We look forward to welcoming the new generation of trendsetters to what we hope will be the city’s new Midtown haunt.”
In addition to the classics, the cocktail list includes several unique creations. We recommend the "Crazy For Love," a refreshingly spicy mix of Tarteo Jalapeno Tequila, fresh lime juice, and Agava Nectar, and the "French," which is a delicious shakeup of Farmer's Organic Gin, simple syrup, french lemon juice, and a splash of champagne.
Aside from the dynamic libations, lookout for a rotating DJ series and a hot crowd. We'll see you at the bar!
*The Paramount Bar is located inside The Paramount Hotel at 235 West 46th Street and will be open Sunday through Thursday from 5pm-1am and Friday and Saturday from 6pm- 2am.
