One of the most stylish singers around is getting a fancy new position at PUMA, and it's none other than the ultra talented, beautiful younger sister of Beyonce, Solange Knowles. From mother, model, fashion icon, and songstress, she can now add Art Director and Creative Consultant to her list of endeavors.
Knowles shared the news yesterday on Instagram via the account of her independent label, Saint Records. Captioning an image of her sneaker clad legs sticking out of the pool, the announcement read, "After years of art directing my own projects and visuals (music videos, photo shoots, album artwork, web content ect).....I am SO EXTREMELY EXCITED to finally announce that I am now able to apply my passion for all things design into my new position as an Art Director and Creative Consultant for the iconic @PUMA!!! It is in my new role that I am able to express my love for not only design but the conception of creative ideas, and the execution of them by curating amazingly talented teams......"
This isn't Knowles's first team-up with Puma. Like the kicks she's rocking in the Instagram shot? She designed them for the Girls of Blaze Disc collection. The line features four updated versions of the iconic PUMA shoe, “The Disc Blaze.” Inspired by the sights and sounds of Brazil, they were designed not only by her, but by Gerlan Jeans, William Okpo, and Hisham Bharoocha and will be available in February.
We can't wait to see the funky campaigns, bold sneaker styles, and fun future collaborations this lover of bright colors, cool prints, and creative aesthetic will bring to PUMA. Congrats on the dream job, Solange!
