Star Scoop: Kristen Wiig Returns to SNL, Mariah Carey Gets ‘Beautiful,’ ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ Reloaded

If you're a fan of funny, then this news will have you wiig-ing out. Kristen Wiig is returning to Saturday Night Live! Although she's not reclaiming her spot on the cast, which she gave up a year ago, the Bridesmaids star will be hosting the late-night romp. She'll preside over the May 11th show, with Vampire Weekend slated to perform. [The Hollywood Reporter]

With her still-stellar pipes and striking looks to match, it's amazing to think that American Idol judge Mariah Carey is about to release her 14th album. The Butterfly queen is giving us a “#Beautiful” sneak peek at her forthcoming single, featuring Grammy winner Miguel. While the dreamy 26-second clip doesn't give much away, we can all set a reminder for the song's debut on May 6th. [Huffington Post]

Silver Linings Playbook is headed to DVD and that could only mean one thing: deleted scenes galore! The Weinstein Company has unveiled an alternate ending to the Academy Award favorite, giving us four more minutes with Bradley Cooper, Robert de Niro, Chris Tucker, and best actress, Jennifer Lawrence. [Entertainment Weekly]

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past decade, you'd know that Gwyneth Paltrow is a favorite within the Jay-Z and Beyoncé clique (ain't nobody messin' with it!). But one thing we can't say we expected was for the Harper's Bazaar cover girl to land some pretty entertaining impersonations of her comrades. That said, thank you Ellen Degeneres for digging it out of her! [ET Online]

It was 2007 when Kanye West declared his wish that Lauryn Hill's heart was still in music on his “Champion” track. Fast forward six years, and he may have gotten his wish. In the midst of a quite public tax evasion scandal, the former Fugee songstress has inked a $1 million deal with Sony to record new music. [Rolling Stone]
