For Stella McCartney’s fall campaign, the former Beatles' daughter decided to switch it up. Instead of sticking with what’s been working for the OBE award winner, namely McCartney veteran Natalia Vodianova, the designer decided to head in a different direction. Instead, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot shot Suvi Koponen and Chiharu Okunungi in two London scenes, according to Women’s Wear Daily. One features Okunungi standing halfway submerged in a swimming pool wearing a huge plaid coat, and the second centers Koponen on the street surrounded by school children wearing an oversized purple coat.
“This season I wanted to capture the spirit of the city and the streets; an expression of urban life and real, everyday moments,” the mother of two boys and two girls told WWD. "We wanted to have a sense of fun and freedom, then contrast it with something slightly unexpected. There is a lot of surrealism, which may be even a bit strange.”
To that we say: mission accomplished! What do you think of the campaign?
