retro inspired

I blame, er credit, Taylor Swift for this one but the retro inspired look has come back in a big way. Talk about a serious blast from fashion’s past.

Now is the time to break out the vintage and start rocking a retro inspired look. Take inspiration from Miss Swift, Dita Von Teese and Zooey Deschanel because they have been rocking this look from the jump.

From the geometric prints to the high-waisted bottoms, you can easily incorporate this trend into your wardrobe without looking like you’ve raided your grandmother’s attic. Here's how you can add a bit of retro flair into your wardrobe this season.

The Higher The Waist The Closer To …

The high-waist look happens to be the perfect compliment to the crop top trend we’ve been seeing. Try high-waist jeans, pencil skirts, a skater skirt, or even bikini bottoms if you are planning a tropical vacation.

Patterned Dresses

Polka dots, kitschy prints, or fun floral prints are all total wins when it comes to the retro inspired look. A polka dress, tights, and a cool cardigan would make for a perfect fall look.

Flats Are Your Friends

A trend where you don’t have to kill your feet with heels? Sign me up! Not only are flats comfy, but also the right style can make any look instantly retro. A chic ballet flat or a soft pair of oxfords are a win in my book.

Bat a Cat Eye

Nothing says retro louder than a chic pair of cat-eye frames. Play it safe with a pair of sunglasses or take the look over-the-top with a pair of faux cat-eye reading glasses.

Finishing Touches

The devil is in the details. Take your look to the next level by adding some retro-inspired beauty tricks to your look as well. Try winged black eye liner on the top lid and a bright red lip. Bonus points for a deep side part or slick bun atop your head.
