Style Scoop: Coach Resets for Fall, Gisele’s Trophy Look, Terry Richardson Plays Big

Coach has a brand new bag… and look… for Fall 2014. We knew this day would come. We’ve been hearing about Coach’s new look under creative director Stuart Vevers. Now we have our first look. The Fall 2014 ad campaign features an “'image-on-image’ style, juxtaposing new portraits lensed by Steven Meisel against photos from Joel Sternfeld’s Landscape with Path series.” “It was important that it felt true to the spirit of the new Coach girl, but even more importantly was for people to sense a change,” Vevers said of his campaign. “This is a reset.” [Women’s Wear Daily]

Gisele Bündchen presented the FIFA World Cup trophy (in a bespoke Louis Vuitton trunk, no less) wearing a thigh-high blue dress from the Louis Vuitton 2015 cruise collection on Sunday. The trophy will leave Brazil later this week for Germany, where it will remain until the next World Cup, taking place in 2018 in Russia. “It was a great honor to represent my country and the people of Brazil in this celebration carrying the LV FIFA Trophy Case,” the model said. “It’s beautiful to see how sport has the power to bring the world together. I am so grateful to be part of this moment. Thank you all Brazilians who have welcomed the world with all their joy and loving spirit. [Women’s Wear Daily]

After Terry Richardson’sNew York magazine profile, questioning whether the photographer was an artist or a predator, it seemed that the fashion industry was distancing themselves from him after several new misconduct accusations. Not Playboy. The nude-y magazine has given Richardson a 100-page spread that will run in the February 2015 issue. “Terry Richardson’s latest collaboration with Playboy is a 100-page special edition of the magazine titled California Dreamin’ in which he photographed four Playmates in a variety of iconic California locations from Joshua Tree to Chateau Marmont. This special edition is set to hit newsstands around Valentine’s Day 2015. Playboy’s July/August 2014 issue (on newsstands now) features a 6-page preview of California Dreamin’, and the magazine plans to run additional previews of California Dreamin’ in its December 2014 and January/February 2015 issues.” Whatever you say, Playboy. Who will win the battle of the September issues? Hearst is hoping that one of its fashion titles will come in the heaviest. They have a good chance, too. Elle will be the largest Hearst magazine ever with 465 pages, Harper’s Bazaar will be the largest the publication has ever seen with 444 pages—and a Coach sponsored Carine Roitfeld fashion spread. Marie Claire will also be at its biggest with 261 pages. That’s all fine and dandy, but we really rather know who’s on the cover of these glossies. [Fashionista]
