Style Scoop: Katie Grand on Love Magazine, Pantone’s Fashion Color Report for Fall 2015, Fifty Shades Fever

Love is not a fashion magazine. It is about style,” Katie Grand explained when Love magazine faced early challenges with its controversial imagery. That mindset continues to govern the way she runs the magazine to this day—which, most recently, features Kim Kardashian (and the rest) full-frontal naked. She acknowledges that her approach is very carefully designed to resonate on the Internet. And resonate it does. [Business of Fashion]

With New York Fashion Week kicking off Thursday, Pantone released its Fashion Color Report for Fall 2015. The report features the top 10 colors for women’s and men’s fashion for fall 2015, along with designer sketches and inspiration (like the one above for Haute Hippie, by Trish Wescoat Pound). According to Pantone, this season “displays an umbrella of accord that weaves earthy neutrals with a range of bold color statements and patterns to reflect a landscape of hope, fun, fantasy and all things natural.” [Glam Inbox]

As “Fifty Shades Fever” sweeps the nation (just in time for Valentine’s Day, of course), it seems like more and more people are racing to shop for lingerie, luxury items and intimates of their own. New eBay shopping data reveals that Fleur of England sales increased by 438% and Agent Provocateur sales increased by 100% in the six months following the release of the Fifty Shades of Greytrailer in July, compared to the same time period the year before. Wendy Williams is a daytime TV host, entrepreneur, author and performer—and now, she’s a designer, too. Williams developed an apparel collection for HSN Inc. that will be available online starting March 6 and on-air beginning March 28. The designer envisions her customer as “a diva on a budget, even if she doesn’t have a budget. She’s got a great sense of style, she knows when she smells a bargain.” [Women’s Wear Daily]
