Style Scoop: Lady Gaga’s Favorite Fit, Fashion’s Billion-Dollar Man, Zac Posen Plays DJ

With a Hollywood archive comprising her most extreme wears, we were surprised to find that Mother Monster, Harper’s Bazaar’s new cover girl, prefers the daintier things in life. Lady Gaga revealed that her favorite look was a “giant white hat with flower detail and bonnet, a mermaid lace gown with a giant bow, and a walking stick” inspired by Audrey Hepburn, and that her most expensive possessions are a sable horse, a strand of diamonds, and Mikimoto pearls.[Harper’s Bazaar]

Michael Kors is a living, breathing example of the power of an IPO. The designer, who took his eponymous brand public in December 2011, experienced a 20% bump in shares yesterday, pushing him into billionaire territory. [Forbes]

No runway show or fashion presentation is complete without a playlist to set the mood. For his Fall 2014 diffusion line, Zac Posen is taking that notion a step further. Posen’s posse released a Spotify playlist with two to four songs representing each outfit from the ZAC Zac Posen lookbook, citing artists from Ke$ha to Vivaldi as design inspo. [Fashionista]

So long, Londontown. New York City has reclaimed its throne as the fashion capital of the world—just in time for the Fall 2014 shows—with Paris coming in at a close second. “New York City has, indeed, earned its Top Global Fashion Capital ranking through its disciplined, methodical yet creative approach to its fashion industry,” said Bekka Payack, fashion director at The Global Language Monitor. London came in at number three with Los Angeles, Barcelona, Antwerp, and Sydney gaining spots in the top 10. [Vogue UK]

Vogue is getting more and more digital by the minute. The Condé Nast glossy launched on Flipboard today, a mobile app that curates content from social media and other sites, and presents it in a magazine format, tailored to its users’ specific interests. Though Flipboard won’t have rights to the entire Vogue catalogue, it does offer a major benefit to the magazine: access to its 100 million users and the chance for Vogue to earn additional ad revenue. [Flipboard]
