Known as a staunch futurist, André Courrèges was unafraid of designs most people dubbed as “out-there.” And, wearable or not, former Young & Rubicam ad execs Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting have been trying to bring the house back to life. Not limited to making clothes, “Courrèges 2.0” plans to expand into not just clothes, accessories and makeup, but architecture, design, music and electric cars. [The Cut]

Macy’s has finally decided to open an overseas store in Abu Dhabi. The retailer will open a 205,000-square-foot, four-level store at Al Maryah Central, which is described as a “super-regional shopping destination” and is currently under development. A 230,000-square-foot Bloomingdale’s will also open there. Both plan to open in 2018. [Women’s Wear Daily]

H&M has selected 24 aspiring designers from 37 fashion schools across the globe for its fourth edition of the annual H&M Design Award, which will be revealed in January. Only 8 students will make it to the next round, showing their collections to an international jury headed by Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s creative head of design. The winner will receive a collaboration with H&M, a show at Stockholm Fashion week, a cash prize of 50,000 euros ($63,300!) and a mentorship. [Women’s Wear Daily]
