Style Scoop: Lucky Mag’s Ecommerce Future, Rihanna is Wild For W, Karlie Kloss Captures Chanel


Rumors surrounding the future of Condé Nast’s Lucky Magazine can be put to rest, because the real scoop is finally out. Condé Nast announced its plans to spin off Lucky’s print and digital components and combine them with ecommerce platform BeachMint. With this venture will come a new, totally independent company called The Lucky Group. BeachMint co-founder Josh Berman will serve as CEO, while Gillian Gorman Round will serve as the company’s president and Eva Check will be its chief creative officer. W definitely stands for “wild” with Rihanna’s photo shoot for the magazine’s September cover story. Marcus Piggot photographed the risk-taking style icon for the fall issue, who wore a tribal-inspired look. The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas hosts Oscar de la Renta’s most phenomenal creations through October 5. The brainchild of former-First Lady Laura Bush, “Oscar de la Renta: Five Decades of Style” features gowns worn by First Ladies aplenty as well as editorials from the Sixties and Seventies. Curated by Molly Sorkin and Jennifer Park, the retrospective holds 64 mannequins wearing lavish evening wear from 1967 to present. [Women’s Wear Daily]

Bibhu Mohapatra has stunned us season after season with his intricate gowns, and now he’s going to do the same with his fur designs. The designer first learned about fur design while working at J.Mendel, and now he’s ready to do it himself. This fall, a collection of 22 styles will hit stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's, as Mohapatra himself sets out for a series of trunk shows and special appearances to help sell them. Pamella Roland is making her way down the aisle with her first-ever bridal collection. Slated for a Fall 2015 launch, the collection will include 12 couture gowns in elegant ultra-flattering modern designs. “From the launch of pamella roland in 2002, we’ve had customers order gowns in white for their weddings, so in a sense we are already making bridal dresses,” said Roland. “The launch of a special bridal collection is a natural next step and an exciting new venture for us.” [Glam Inbox]
