Michael Kors celebrated the launch of Claiborne Swanson Frank’s new book Young Hollywood with a private dinner in Los Angeles on Thursday evening. The book, which is available for sale in select Michael Kors stores globally and features a forward by the designer, is a body of work by portrait photographer Swanson Frank. She photographed over 60 up-and-coming women to watch, drawing inspiration from Old Hollywood. [Glam Inbox]

Balenciaga’s website just got a reboot, thanks to Alexander Wang. The website re-launched on Wednesday after a year-long redesign, for which Wang collaborated with Fantasy Interactive. The homepage features full-bleed images of the spring runway show and a vertical navigation scroll on the left. The e-commerce collections are presented on 360-degree looks for a well-rounded shopping experience. [Women’s Wear Daily]

On October 10, Bloomingdale’s will open a three-level, 125,000-square-foot “reimagined” store in the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto. This store will replace the 18-year-old store in the mall and boasts 68 designer shops and 100 new brands not previously carried there. It’s also rigged with the company’s latest technologies, including “smart” fitting rooms, which are equipped with wall-mounted iPads for shoppers to look up product information. [Women’s Wear Daily]

Orthopedic surgeon-turned-shoe designer Taryn Rose is melding fashion with technology in a new shoe line. The nine-piece collection made its online debut on Wednesday via a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds for the custom molds needed to make the shoes. Stilettos, sandals and sneakers featuring a patented wing-shaped insole technology sets the line, Dresr, apart. Rose calls it “a luxury brand for the digital age.” [Women’s Wear Daily]
