Style Scoop: Pepsi and Vogue Italia Collaborate, Valentino Fetes New Assouline Book in London, The Eiffel Tower Becomes a Catwalk


Pepsi and Vogue Italia have joined forces to launch a global collection featuring designs from 10 cutting-edge, emerging design talents. The designers, who hail from all over the world, created a 20-pieces of clothing for the brands' “The Pulse of New Talent” collection. Valentino Garavani hit up London’s Maison Assouline to celebrate the launch of his new book, Valentino: At the Emperor’s Table, and sign copies. The Assouline tome features an introduction by André Leon Talley and depicts how Garavani came to designing his residence and hosting events at them. The designer notes that his entertaining process is “not very far from [that of designing] my evening gowns and my creations—it’s joyful beauty.” Guests at the event included Roland Mouret, Anne Hathaway, Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece and Prosper Assouline. Paris is called the fashion capital of the world, but Jessica Minh Anh is taking that name to new heights—literally. The Vietnamese events manager will stage a fashion show on the Eiffel Tower on Thursday, to be live-streamed on her website. She’ll showcase eight designers from eight different countries, who put together approximately 100 artisanal couture as well as ready-to-wear looks for fall-winter. [Women’s Wear Daily]

Actress and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow teamed up with British Airways to launch their “impressive” A380 in Singapore. Paltrow took to the top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel in a mint green Safiyaa dress and sparkly Jimmy Choo sandals for the photoshoot. [Women’s Wear Daily]

Tory Burch celebrated a monumental store opening in Shanghai, featuring a marching band, cocktail party and plated dinner served on new plates from Tory Burch Home. In addition to celebrating the newest (and largest) Tory Burch store in the world, the event marked the launch of a special capsule collection of 20 ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, exclusively available in the Shanghai flagship.
