Style Scoop Who Did Marc Cast, Porter’s Girls, Olivia Palermo Weds in Carolina Herrera

Kate Hillier and Luella Bartley took it to the e-streets to for their Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2014 campaign. Marc Jacobs and stylist Katie Grand used Instagram to find models with the hashtag #CastMeMarc. “It seemed like a great idea to me, as casting through Instagram seemed cool, current and strong,” Jacobs said. “We wanted the ads to shout with youth and energy… to be fresh and reclaim the spirit that the collection had when we first conceived of it—to be another collection, not a second line.” Here is your first look at who Marc cast in the ad! Net-A-Porter’s glossy, Porter, is more than a fashion magazine. Porter strives to make women feel good, and it starts with the cover girls. “When we first spoke to them”—Inez and Vinoodh, who shot most of the covers—“about the project, we were talking about the importance of authenticity in the image,” said Lucy Yeomans, Porter’s editor-in-chief. “In some ways, it was the opposite of a [typical] fashion shoot. It was the woman coming first. Obviously, when we did Gaga [on the cover of Porter’s second issue], who’s not a model, we came at her from a very natural and non-theatrical angle. I wanted to see the 28-year-old girl who’s managed to turn herself into a megaglobal brand. We have some Hollywood covers coming up in the pipeline—but they’re all people who want to engage in the creative process, rather than show up and have three quarters of them shot in front of a white background.” [The Cut]

Olivia Palermo married Johannes Huebel on Saturday, June 28, wearing a cream cashmere sweater that incorporated scattered ostrich feathers, a full tulle skirt with a high split, floral detailing and… a pair of shorts! The 28-year-old topped off the Carolina Herrera look with rhinestone-embellished deep blue Manolo Blahnik heels. You know, the ones Carrie Bradshaw married Mr. Big in their civil ceremony? She kept her makeup and jewelry simple, opting to wear her own delicate Alexander Mor stud earrings. “I wanted to keep my makeup light and fresh and more focused on about the lashes while keeping the eyes clean,” the beautiful bride said. “My hair was in an uncontrived ponytail, one of my favorite personal looks.” [GLAMChic]
