Style Setters: Beauty Insider, Christina Han
The Cut's very first beauty editor, Christina Han, earned her know-how from THE magazine Bible – Vogue – so you know her advice is on point. Since starting at New York magazine, Christina has successfully helped the online destination merge into their new design while bringing her beauty advice to the fashion site and its many readers. Fashion Week saw the launch of her “Beautygrams” while she entertains readers during the rest of the year with Q&As and indepth knowledge about everything from Condoleezza Rice's lipstick teeth to Carine Roitfeld's sexy, smoky eyes.
What 5 products are always in your makeup case during Fashion Week?
Lucas' Papaw Ointment, Tatcha Blotting Papers, Tarte Lipsurgence Matte Liptint in Lively, Nars Matte Lipstick in Vesuvio, Versace Versence roller-ball fragrance
Where do you get beautified? Nails? Waxing? Massages?
Nails — neighborhood spot called Floris on 5th ave and 13th st.
Wax — Strip House
Massage — it's been awhile, but I'll get these when necessary at Great Jones in Manhattan or wherever I am on vacation!
Hair — Prive at the Soho Grand
Brows — private appts with Kristie Streicher
Facials — with Joanna Vargas
What is the first beauty treatment you'll enjoy post Fashion Week?
Hopefully a facial with Joanna! My skin is so angry for going a whole summer without seeing her, so I'll probably have one epic appointment with her post-NYFW.
Please explain your nightly beauty regimen after a full day of shows and makeup.
In the beginning, I'll wash each night with Joanna Vargas' Vitamin C cleanser, follow with her Daily Serum, then moisturize with Alchimie's Lights Off Kantic Calming Evening Cream. By the end of the week I'll be taking off my makeup with Nars Cleansing water then slapping on the Daily Serum…I usually won't even make it to the moisturizer. At some point in the middle I'll do a mask, if there's time (usually on Sunday), with either Joanna's Exfoliating Mask or AKMD's Detox clay mask. But one thing I never skip out on is swiping on Chaptick Medicated, otherwise I'll wake up with dry, cracked lips, which I'll end up picking at throughout the day, which is no way to live.
