Country-crooning queen, Taylor Swift, will headline the annual lingerie spectacular, which tapes on Wednesday, November 13 at New York City's 69th Regiment Armory. The 23-year-old megastar, who recently won two honors at this year's Country Music Awards for her “Highway Don't Care” collaboration with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban, will be joined by British girl group Neon Jungle, pop-punk band Fall Out Boy, and indie duo A Great Big World.
“If a mad scientist were asked to create the perfect combination of the beauty of a Victoria's Secret Angel with the ultimate talent and creativity from today's music scene, the answer would be simple—Taylor Swift,” said Jack Sussman, executive vice president of specials and events at CBS, where the show will air on December 10th. “The perfect combination of Victoria’s Secret and Taylor Swift, with Fall Out Boy, A Great Big World and Neon Jungle, adds up to a big night of entertainment on CBS.”
The network anticipates that this year's broadcast will trump past ratings. Rihanna, Bruno Mars, and Justin Bieber brought in 9.48 million viewers to the December 4, 2012 airing. With more than 36 million followers on Twitter alone, and plenty of teenage fans who prefer VS's PINK underpinnings, we're sure that record won't be hard for Swift to beat.
Of course, viewers won't be tuning in just for renditions of “Red” and “Dance, Dance.” Veteran Victoria's Secret Angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, and Doutzen Kroes will be sashaying down the catwalk with South African stunner Candice Swanepoel on board to wear the $10 million Royal Fantasy Bra designed by Mouawad.
“I’m excited to share our brand with millions of customers around the world through this iconic event featuring our Angel supermodels, dazzling lingerie designs and superstar entertainers,” said Sharen Jester Turney, president and chief executive officer of Victoria's Secret. “And it makes me incredibly proud that we use this display of our brand to raise nearly $1 million for charity.”
The 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will air on December 10th at 10:00 p.m. EST on CBS.
