Russell Brand was right on target at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night with his random outbursts of “Twilight!” and “Hunger Games!” Doing this, he acknowledged the audience’s – and the country’s – obsession with the two literary epics-turned-big-screen-phenomena, and nearly predicted both films’ award-sweeping victories. While other movies and actors garnered a fair amount of love in the form of golden popcorn statues, the night essentially belonged to vampires and dystopians. Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart are undeniably great, but we’re glad Melissa McCarthy stole the show for a second to remind us how to go to the bathroom while wearing a floor-length bridesmaids’ dress. Here are the big winners of last night's star-studded show:
Movie of the Year: “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1”
