The 84th Annual Academy Awards: Notable Nominations

It’s time to start predicting who will take top honors at the Oscars this year as The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak and Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence announced the nominees of the 84th Annual Academy Awards. Martin Scorsese’s whimsical homage to early film, Hugo, leads the pack with 11 nominations with The Artist not far behind with 10. There’s an diverse batch of films up the Best Picture award this year, including The Help, Moneyball, and War Horse just to name a few. Here are a few highlights from the nominees list:
