Last night, on a warm spring evening, celebrities paraded into Lincoln Center to premiere the highly anticipated movie adaptation of F. Scott Fitgerald's 1925 novel, The Great Gatsby. Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Isla Fisher, Anna Wintour, and many more, graced the black carpet in styles inspired by the roaring 1920s.
Fisher wowed fans in a flowing, floral Dolce & Gabbana dress while Mulligan brought the red carpet with her in a sexy, structured red Lanvin and Tiffany baubles. Fittingly, the men of Gatsby did not disappoint. Both DiCaprio and Maguire chose dapper blue suits from Prada and Saint Laurent, respectively,
In addition to the stunning cast, the film features a soundtrack of current musical sensations scored by Jay Z in Tom Ford and including, amongst many others, Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine) in a sharp Miu Miu silhouette, who were both in attendance at last night's premiere.
Director, producer, and co-writer Baz Lurhmann clearly appreciates the decadence and drama associated with the fashion of the '20s. His appointment of Miuccia Prada as the movie's costume designer was an inspired choice and one we can't wait to see come to life on the big screen!
