With employers like Gucci, Valentino and Uniqueness on her resume, Alessandra Facchinetti should have no problems filling Derek Lam's shoes as the newest creative director of Tod's. In an announcement made today, Facchinetti told WWD, "It was an offer impossible to refuse. It's a great opportunity and a challenge. I feel very confident, there are many elements that we share. I've always worked for companies paying attention to quality and luxury." As Tod's has been without a creative head for a year now, we're excited to see how Alessandra jumps in and takes charge of such an important role in the next couple of months. Being that she was dismissed from Valentino for, accordingly, not drawing enough on the visions of Valentino's archives, we anticipate some real standout and unexpected styles different from the Tod's designs we've seen in the past. Are you excited to see what Alessandra has in store for us this fall at Milan Fashion Week?
