DESIGNER: Vera Wang
INSPIRATION: Classic films like Funny Face and Marilyn Monroe's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, both which feature key scenes centered around the color pink. As Wang's house put it via Twitter, "Pink as sensual, pink as seductive, pink as dreamy, pink as sophisticated, pink as strong, pink as cool."
TRENDS: Wang's gowns came in a slew of glamorous styles, from full organza skirts with strapless bodices to mermaid skirts with sheer overlay and ruffled chiffon. Many frocks featured beaded and lace embroidery, exaggerated bows, or oversized draped flower detailing.
PALETTE: No white in this bridal collection. Wang featured gowns in shades of pink, from blush to peony to nearly red.
WHO SHOULD WEAR IT: Brides looking to defy tradition and sport a fun and feminine shade down the aisle instead. Gwen Stefani and Jessica Biel have already done so, after all. We're thinking engaged starlets like Hayden Panettiere and Naya Rivera can pull off the look.
