Remember last fall and spring's must-have bag, the Cambridge Satchel? Available in a range of vivid colors and at an affordable price point, it concreted itself as the "it" daytime bag of the year. All the style stars had one--from fashion bloggers and models to celeb trend setters like Alexa Chung, Elle Fanning, and Zooey Deschanel. Heck, even we here at Glam had the tote on our seasonal shopping wish list.
To mark its fifth anniversary, the Cambridge Satchel Company is bringing excitement over the bag back by arranging a special collaboration with fellow British designer Vivienne Westwood. The Dame is always keen to lend her skills to a deserving brand, after all, having recently taken her talents to The English National Ballet and Virgin Atlantic.
The limited edition A/W 2012 collection will offer the bag in three color combinations, yellow and black, white and red, and brown and black, all featuring Westwood's iconic squiggle print. They'll also get a punk make over with tan straps and buckles styled after details from the designer's 1981 Pirate collection.
Company founder Julie Deane announced her elation about the upcoming line in a statement stating,"Vivienne Westwood is an iconic British designer with a strong ethical base and I am incredibly proud of the association."
The totes, available in 11" and 14", will go on sale October 14th at Cambridgesatchel.com and Vivienne Westwood stand alone stores.
