In the presence of fashion influencers, models, and celebrities, Vogue named the winner of the 2012 CFDA Fashion Fund, culminating a five month process. Following in the footsteps of illustrious designers including Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, and Doo.Ri, Greg Chait of the Elder Statesman took home this year's grand prize, complete with $300,000 for his label and a 12 month long mentorship! Tabitha Simmons and Jennifer Meyer earned the position of runners up, scoring $100,000 each along with a industry insider to lead them on their career path over the next year as well.
The full class of finalists for this year's Vogue / CFDA Fashion Fund included Suno’s Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty; A.L.C.’s Andrea Lieberman; Assembly New York’s Greg Armas; Giulietta’s Sofia Sizzi; Illesteva’s Justin Salguero, Daniel Silberman and Alina Silberman; Jennifer Fisher, and Wes Gordon.
While Emma Stone presented the honor to Chait, it was Christopher Bailey of Burberry who ruminated on his successful fashion path for the new class of talent. "If you believe in something, you can make it happen," decreed Bailey. And true to his word, each of the finalists is making it happen. This February 2013, each will find their creations in Nordstrom pop up stores around the United States, as the retailer is expanding its partnership with the fund!
