What's our favorite day of the week? Why Friday, because it opens up a two-day window where the world awaits. Although we are going to venture out and soak up whatever sun we can get—we didn't stock up on neons and graphic prints for nothing—we'll make sure to spend some time cozied up in front of the TV. Yes, Girlshas sadly finished its second season and we do wish there were new episodes of Scandal every day of the week, but with spring's first weekend comes a reason for us to do some home shopping, an awards show that'll bring out our inner child, and words to the wise from one of tech's most powerful women.
Tonight, Fashion Star mentors Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, and John Varvatos will coach their respective teams in a challenge to create a look that will flatter all body types, on and off the runway. Tune in to NBC tonight at 8:00 p.m. to see which looks won over buyers at Express, Macy's, and Saks Fifth Avenue, and will be made available to purchase as the show airs.
Tomorrow, feel free to sleep in so you can keep up with the younger members of the fam as they go wild during Nickelodeon's annual Kids' Choice Awards. But don't worry about the slime and or question how "old" you are if you know Selena Gomez from Spring Breakers and not Wizards of Waverly Place. Fergie's husband and Safe Haven star Josh Duhamel is hosting the brouhaha. That's enough eye candy to keep us glued to our sets, even if the broadcast is more colorful than a toned-down Nicki Minaj.
Then, on Sunday, round back to more familiar territory with the country's current most-buzzed about author, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg. The social media executive is sitting down with Oprah Winfrey for her weekly Next Chapter series (which most recently featured Beyoncé before her HBO documentary debut). Winfrey will chat with Sandberg about her bestseller Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead and the pressures she's taken on as one of the most prominent women in web.
