Anne Hathaway has been on a winning streak this awards season. After picking up awards for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, Critic's Choice, and BAFTAs (to name a few), Anne is now nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards. During this whirlwind awards season, Anne's worn Chanel (Golden Globes), Giambattista Valli (SAG Awards), Oscar de la Renta (Critic's Choice), Burberry (BAFTA), and Gucci (Costume Guild Awards). While she doesn't seem to be favoring any one designer this season, Anne definitely has a thing for beads. Two of her gowns have been beaded, and one was studs, so it's safe to say Anne prefers gowns with some texture.
This isn't Anne's first Oscar nomination - the actress received a Best Actress nomination for her role in Rachel Getting Married (she lost to Kate Winslet in The Reader). For her first Oscar nomination, Anne wore a silver beaded Armani Prive gown and walked the red carpet in custom Casadei 1616 pumps. The actress also wed her husband Adam Schulman in a custom made Valentino gown in Big Sur this fall. Anne is said to have a special relationship with the Italian designer Valentino Garavani, who has described Anne to be "like my daughter".
So who will Anne pick for her Oscar's dress? We're definitely going with something beaded and textured, and our first thought for gorgeous beading was Marchesa's Fall 2013 Couture collection. As for color, Anne has said in the past "My go-to color is red. It's powerful and energizing." We've picked a gorgeous red lace Valentino number and an intricately beaded black Elie Saab gown.
