What Will the Best Actress in a Mini-Series or TV Movie Wear to the Golden Globes?
They stole our hearts on the small screen, and now the ladies will all go for the gold – Golden Globe, we mean. But our big question is what will their hair look like if they nab the coveted statue? For some fun hair ideas fit for the red carpet, we looked to British styling import Mark Hill. Here are his insights:
Helena Bonham-Carter – She is always unpredictable and has a flair for drama. When dressing up for the red carpet, her wild and larger than life style ranges from carefully calculated to tangled tresses that complement not only her outfit but the roles that she’s nominated for. When replicating Helena’s hair for a night on the town, I recommend building up your hair’s body with Mark Hill Salon Professional Love Big Hair Viva La Volume Volumising Blow Dry Mousse to allow for styling and over the top drama. Helena is never short on confidence and individuality.
Rebecca Ferguson – Known for her role in the epic period drama, The White Queen, her laid-back style and gorgeous flowing tresses are typically as effortless and natural as her stellar acting abilities. For the Globes, I’d love to see her shake things up a bit and go uber-chic and formal, perhaps with an updo complemented with old-Hollywood accessories. Miracoilicious Argan Oil will not only help smooth her hair, it will also make her hair easier to style and give a great shine to really stand out on the red carpet.
Jessica Lange – Jessica is an eternal beauty—who does not seem to age! She typically wears her hair down with a glamour-invoking side part and a few locks hovering seductively just over one eye. This Hollywood vet knows her look and is determined to stick to what works. Women of Jessica’s age tend to get stuck in their beauty routines. If I were styling her for the red carpet, I would love to sweep her hair into a low slung soft side chignon – this would keep her signature side parting and fringe but would give her a edge of modern glamor. Gorgeous! Fabulous Finish Hairspray would keep her hair in place all night long but will still leave her feeling totally touchable.
Helen Mirren – Helen Mirren is one of the most respected actresses of our time, but isn’t afraid to color outside the lines! Whether sporting coiffed waves or a pastel pink bob like she did at the BAFTAs, you never know what she’s going to present on the red carpet. In her role as a defense attorney on HBO’s Phil Spector, Helen rocks a somewhat dated style with a teased blunt bang. But for the Globes, I’d wager that she’ll bring a bold, modern look that will testify, “I’ve still got it and I’m not going anywhere!” I would recommend Helen uses 2 essential styling products on the night – Love Big Hair Viva La Volume Blow Dry Mousse will give her fine hair volume exactly where she needs it before styling and a final spritz of Defrizz-ilicious Bedazzled Anti-Humidity Shine Spray after styling will give a great shine and protect her from the humid California weather.
Elisabeth Moss — Shocking fans and viewers at home by stepping onto the red carpet with an edgy blonde pixie cut at the Emmys in September, Elisabeth is one of those actresses who is not only known for breakout performances but breakout beauty transformations. Elisabeth has since let her hair grow out a bit and is a back to brunette. The beautiful aspect of Elisabeth’s look is that no matter the length or style, she always has the most brilliant shine to her hair. For achieving that same shine, I recommend our new Gorgeous! Work It Girl! Shine, Protect and Control Spray, which not only provides amazing shine through the infusion of bamboo/fern extract, but protects hair from heated styling tools up to 455°F. A departure from the straight and narrow, I’d love to see her experiment more with texture and incorporate loose waves on Sunday night!
