With the Commander in Chief’s Inaugural Ball mere days away, designers are anxiously waiting to see which gown Michelle Obama will chose to wear on the big night. In preparation for her husband's second inauguration, the First Lady has a big decision to make, as a single fashion credit will astronomically change one fashion designer's career as it did Jason Wu's in 2009.
Staffers from her department reportedly requested samples from over 20 designers so the FLOTUS would have a wealth of options to pick from for the ball. While Wu took top honors during her first moment on the inaugural stage, Michael Kors, Derek Lam, Naeem Khan, Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, Prabal Gurung, Bibhu Mohapatra, Thakoon Panichgul, Tracy Reese, Chris Benz, Tory Burch, Narciso Rodriguez, Zac Posen, Maria Cornejo, Thom Browne, Barbara Tfank, Laura Smalls, and of course Wu, have reportedly shipped dresses to the White House for her approval. When it comes to guessing games as to which designer Obama will opt to wear, it's anyone's assumption. Stay tuned to see which designers creation will be in the spotlight on Monday night!
