Kris Jenner’s Famous Lemon Cake Is Actually From A Box, And Here’s How You Can Make It
December 8, 2017
On the November 26 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians: A Very Kardashian Holiday, Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian get into a heated debate over Kris’s famous lemon cake. Words are exchanged, shade is thrown, and Kris’s mother MJ is just kind of sitting there.
All the (definitely unscripted, totally unplanned) drama ends with Kris and Khloe challenging each other to a bake-off. Khloe promises to bake her goodies from scratch while Kris goes head-to-head with her out-of-the-box mixes. We don’t really get all the bad vibes toward boxed mixes (Duncan Hines is honestly great), but we’re loving that it brought us this showdown.

Ultimately, Khloe won with her strawberry cobbler, but come on, wouldn’t it have been ultimately fairer if she had just tried to make the same lemon cake from scratch? After all, it’s hard to argue with strawberry cobbler.
While Kris has yet to share her personal recipe for the cake that has been beloved for years by her own family, there’s one on the back of the box she uses that we think must come pretty close. Thanks to the expert diggers at Delish, we found this recipe from the baked goods behemoth themselves. Happy baking, and here’s hoping you never have to face off against Kris, Khloe, or really any member of the Klan, for that matter.
