Dating requires vulnerability no matter who you are, but for the transgender community, finding someone who you can truly be yourself around can be incredibly challenging. Trans people struggle every day to prove that they are more than their physical appearance. “I can’t change the fact that this is how I feel inside, and that’s how Clair feels inside,” says Jim. “I’m a human being, and I’ve fallen in love with another human being.” Jim was four years old when he realized he was transgender. Clair came out in her conservative Montana hometown when she was 13. And on March 29, 2009, they found each other. Jim and Clair are a transgender couple. We want to love and be loved just like everyone else,” says Jim.
