How much time a day do you spend on your phone? Is a shattered screen the end of your world? Are your Instagram followers your best friends? Would you be lost without Google Maps? When it comes to our smartphones, we seem to be more addicted than ever. In fact, according to a report by comScore, the average adult American spends nearly three hours on their phone a day. Here, poet Natalie Patterson taps into the downside of technology with a poem, titled “You Can’t Touch This,” that questions how connected we are IRL. As she says so eloquently, “All this reality is appealing without filters to minimize the sting of actuality.”
