12 Tips For Nailing The No-Makeup Makeup Look
By ACACIA DEADRICK
Establish A Healthy Skincare Routine
Healthy, glowing skin is at the core of every good no-makeup makeup look. Choose a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen to get you in a good daily and nightly routine.
It takes time to learn about your skin, find products that work, and see results, so be patient. Listen to dermatologists and aestheticians with experience and credible advice.
Use A Light Base
For your base, you want something light with a natural finish. Luckily, there are tons of options like BB cream, CC cream, tinted moisturizer, and tinted sunscreen.
You’ll want to avoid foundation since it is heavier and will cover your natural glow. If you’re worried about blemishes, spot-conceal with a color-correcting concealer.
Skip The Contour
A flawless contour doesn’t mix with the no-makeup look as it requires a lot of product and shows less of your actual face. If you want to accentuate certain areas, try nontouring.
Nontouring is a way to sculpt your face by highlighting. You can use highlighters or a concealer on the features where you'd apply it when sculpting to lift the face.
Create A Bronzy Glow
In the warmer months, you can use bronzer to give your skin a sunkissed glow. Make sure you use a product that isn't too much darker than your skin, and apply it lightly.
When you're putting on bronzer, apply it to the areas of your face where the sun would naturally hit, like the cheekbones, the tip of the nose, brow bones, and the chin.
Embrace Your Natural Brow
Embrace the natural color and shape of your brows. If you're happy with your natural brows, stick to clear or pigmented gels that are intended to keep your brows in place.
If you need some shape, use your natural brow as a stencil and shape with a brow pen that is close to your brow. Use light strokes to feather your brow, and aim to even them out.
