5 Reasons Why Your At-Home Waxing Sesh Isn't Removing All The Hair
By CHRISTIANA MAIMONE
You Didn’t Cleanse Your Skin
Skin prep is vital in the hair removal process because the wax will not adhere to the skin properly if it’s not free of excess oil. Exfoliating your skin will remove dead skin cells and help the wax stick to your hair, and your skin should be fully dry
before applying the wax.
Hair Length
If your hair is too short, the wax will not adhere properly, but if your hair is too long, the wax can irritate your skin and cause the hair to break rather than be fully removed. Trim down hair that is too long between ¼-¾ of an inch before waxing.
Wrong Type Of Wax
The type of wax you use depends on the area you use it, so for areas like the bikini line, underarms, and eyebrows, you’ll use hard wax which is thicker and hardens on your skin. Soft wax requires a waxing strip, unlike hard wax, and is used in large areas, like the arms, legs, and back.
