Are There Real Benefits To Drinking Aloe Vera Juice?
By MARY WROBLEWSKI
Aloe vera seems like a magical succulent as it can help heal sunburns, acne, and rosacea. The newest fad is drinking aloe vera juice, and while this might sound odd, aloe gel and juice are two different things, and aloe juice can impart very different benefits than the gel.
If you’re on the hunt for an anti-inflammatory, aloe juice may suit your needs because it’s filled with vitamins and minerals. However, the Cleveland Clinic suggests starting slowly by sipping small amounts to see how your body reacts, and then, working up to no more than one cup of juice per day.
Aloe vera juice continues to undergo clinical trials to confirm its benefits, but so far, it has been reported to help relieve constipation, IBS, and GERD. Some preliminary studies show that aloe vera juice may fortify eye health and help with some dental conditions, and further studies are being conducted to see if it can lower blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes.
